Comics, formerly Bionicle Artwork III: Bionicle Comics, is a subforum of BZPower's Creative Outlet. It was created in May 2006.

History
The Comics forum was originally conceived as a way of breaking down the Bionicle Artwork forum into smaller, more manageable forums. As of late 2005, sprite shops and kits had already been separated into their own forum, then called Bionicle Artwork II: Shops & Kits. The justification for separating comics into a third forum was that most comic topics were home to long-running series that were continuously updated while most "general art" (drawing, sketching, etc.) topics were relatively short-lived, dealing with a single drawing or sketch. As such, many drawers grew displeased with the number of comic topics in the Artwork forum as the numbers of new comics posted each day would push their topics off the first page before they could get a substantial number of views. There was also a view held by many drawers as well as some comic makers that sprite comics should not be considered at the same level of "art" as original drawings.
A popular poll topic posted in August 2005 asked if there should be a separate forum for comics, with the vast majority responding "yes", which subsequently led to the formation of a petition to the moderators asking for a separate forum. At the time, the main arguments against were that it would create a lot of work for the moderators and that such a forum would enforce the perception that sprite comics (which were the main focus of the debate) were less worthy of being considered art. However these arguments were in the minority.
On May 25, 2006, Bionicle Artwork III was created, with all the comics topics already moved there. The reaction from both the general art and the comic community ranged from indifferent to very positive, with the prospect of both groups being able to find their preferred topics more easily widely viewed as a benefit. All general BZPower forum rules applied, with the exception that comic makers were now allowed to double post under the condition that they were posting new material.
Following the return of the BZPower forums after their extended outage in December 2011, the forum was changed to the Comics forum, allowing all LEGO-related comics, not just specifically Bionicle. Sprite movies based off of comic series, which had been posted in Artwork III, were now required to be posted in a new Music & Movies forum. Additionally, the revival limit for topics, which had been set at 20 days before, was abolished.
